If trying to write from bottom of one page to top of another it does not transfer This could go in pros or cons, but I prefer the unhighlighted version from Notability so I threw it under cons Highlights the hyperlinks slightly so they are more obvious (Notability doesn't do this). This was before I knew how Notability's hyperlink system worked I think hyperlinks is inconvenient and I find myself never using it because the button to tap on links is so far up top, and then I have to click on it again to switch to note taking mode. The lasso tool is customizable (can choose to only select an image or highlight, very useful in a lot of cases) Option for "straight highlight" so you don't have to hold down and it's very efficient When you slide down it creates a new page of the specific template you are using Has notebook templates in the app and are easier to find online Their organizational system is very intuitive (folders inside folders inside folders) If something is in the pros list it means the other app doesn't have the feature Being so popular and having so much funding for the app shows they don't really plan on listening to their customers anytime soon (but I hope they prove me wrong). I want to note that GN has had specific suggestions like the ability to record lectures for literally 5-8 years and other suggestions that they have not implemented. but Notability caught up on some of the most important complaints people had when comparing to GoodNotes. When I started making this list, there were many things I anticipated on saying GoodNotes has that Notability doesn't. Neither one is better than the other, but with my preference of note taking GN is not my first choice anymore. I find my notes to look a lot more "bulky" and stoic than flowy and "artsy" in GN and more flowy in Notability. Overall, I find GoodNotes to be more aesthetic but less practical as a college student. I'm a visual learner who draws diagrams for most things and likes using a more "flowy" note-style than bullet points. someone who has to do a yearly payment.Ībout me: I am a sophomore in college (year 2) taking Anatomy & Physiology w/ Lab, Neurobiology w/ Lab, Sociology, and Philosophy. Note: I don't have the premium version of Notability, my sister bought it before you needed to subscribe so I got to download it for free and this may impact how I see it vs. This is definitely one of the biggest things to consider. The first thing to note is Notability does cost more (yearly payment), vs. I wanted to make this because there is always so many popups of which platform to use, and opinions vary a lot without giving much explanation. I have been using GoodNotes a long longer, so there may be some discrepancy (I overall feel more comfortable on GoodNotes because it's more familiar to me) but after playing around with Notability a lot and using it for majority of my classes, I feel like I can speak pretty confidently on both apps. Thank you for reporting spam and other rule-breaking content.Hello everyone! I have been using GoodNotes and Notability and wanted to answer any questions people may have and give my opinions as a STEM major with a humanities minor.
